I just finished reading Chris Brogan’s ‘Use Google Reader to Blaze News’. About a month ago I saw a video from Robert Scoble on PodTech describing how he uses Google Reader. Perhaps about 6 months ago I was researching all of the web based aggregators and among the folks I talked to was Eric Rice who also suggested Google Reader at that time. However, I decided to go with NewsGator because they had a mobile version, even though I had to pay money for it, it was important that I had that.
Fast forward back to now. I can’t say it was Brogan’s post that convinced me, but everyone added together, and the realization that although I liked NewsGator, it took me forever to go through my blogs. (and you can probably blame Brogan on my even realizing that fact). So I have just made the switch to Google Reader. They now have a mobile edition which they didn’t back in the day, and bottom line, it is fast. Add to it the Smart Subscribe feature from the Better Google Reader Firefox extension I found on LifeHacker.
So there it is, I made a step in the right direction of being more productive by switching to Google Reader from NewsGator.
Dude/Dudette! Thanks for coming back, you make my day! :D Contact me at jeremy@jeremyvaught.com and let me know what you are up to.
Cheers!
